Following good aftercare and scheduling regular infill appointments helps to maintain, and in some cases improve, the health of your natural eyelashes over time. Following aftercare helps you to get the absolute best out of your lashes. Leaving too long between infills can put unnecessary strain on your natural lashes as they grow out (if you're ever debating booking two appointments closer together vs one further away, I would always recommend the more regular smaller appointments).
Infills are priced by priming and application time (step three, see below), at the same rate regardless of which set you have! This means you only ever pay for exactly what you get, plus it rewards those who take good care of their lashes. As always, attend appointments on time with squeaky clean lashes to ensure that no time is wasted during your booking! Clean lashes will also help you get a better indication of how much they'll need filling in, as sometimes when lashes aren't cleansed for a few days, old lashes that are ready to shed may cling on temporarily via skins natural oils and dirt, giving you the false impression that you have great lash retention.
What is involved in an infill appointment?
Step one: You arrive at the door, knocking gently to let us know! We welcome you in (hand sanitiser is on reception by the door), and guide you to the Lash & Brow Nook. You get seated on the comfy recliner and we sit you back to relax.
Step two: Clean silicone eye pads are placed over your lower lashes and you close your eyes (and begin your lash nap if you wish!). Your extensions will then be "pruned"... any extensions that have grown out too far, grown a little twisted, or are otherwise imperfect, will be removed/peeled off the natural lash they were attached to.
Step three: A couple of applicators dipped in pure distilled witch hazel (this is safe for the eyes and skin), are used to "prime" the lashes ready for application (as long as you attend with cleaned lashes, priming will only take one minute), with a quick brush to fluff them back out. Then, premium synthetic extensions are carefully applied (via Russian volume techniques) to isolated natural lashes, using professional semi-permanent adhesive.
Step four: Special sealant is applied to ensure adhesive is fully cured and any lingering adhesive fumes are diminished. Lashes are double checked to ensure there are no "stickies" (where natural lashes are stuck together -they should be free to move and grow naturally), and that non are stuck to the eye pad, and that no lower lashes have come free from under that pads and been lashed accidentally!
Step five: Lashes are given a final brush, under eye pads are removed, and you can finally re-open your eyes! You can then get back up out of the recliner and take a look in the mirror in front of you. Then all that's left is to re-book (if you don't already do this online), pay for your lashes and any other products you may need, and head off on your merry way!
General Guide to Booking Infills
This is just a general guide for the average client. If you feel that you have great retention with minimal/slow growth, book a smaller infill. Or if you think you've lost an unusually high amount, book longer. Prices are calculated by priming and application time (step three), and no matter which option you choose, the minimum application time will ALWAYS be fully utilised.
MINI Infill: This is just for a fortnightly refresh for those that like to keep on top of their lashes as much as possible, or those who have had an infill recently but just need a quickie before an event or holiday! This option should not be booked any later than 18 days since your last appointment. (7.5-15min priming & application)
BASIC Infill: The essential option for those that like to come every 3 weeks or so. Those with Natural Sets may be able to stretch this option a week longer if they're looking after their lashes properly! (15-25min priming & application)
REGULAR Infill: The gold standard. This is what 'most' people with a Full or Glam Set will need after around 4 weeks (4 weeks is when the majority of people need to book LED lash infills). Those with Natural Sets may be able to stretch this option closer to the 5 week mark depending how well they're doing. (25-35min priming & application)
LONG Infill: A handy option when it comes to the Spring and Autumn shedding seasons! When your lashes need that bit extra love: whether it be due to a random shed, a few too many fun nights or just because you left your appointment a little longer than usual. This is also a long enough appointment for those with a Natural Set on its last legs who aren't sure if you need a new set or not. (35-45min Priming & application)
Infills can also be used to slowly change the style or fullness of your set. If you started out Natural, but fancy going Full, just book a longer infill and let us know you want them fuller!
You may notice, the Dramatic Volume Set wasn't mentioned in the options. this is because we don't recommend you keep your lashes dramatic long-term. Get them done for a special event and then we can maintain them as a Glam Set.
